FAQ

Common questions

Is the Zebra L10 ATEX (Windows) certified for Zone 1?

No. It is certified for Zone 2/22 only, so it can be used in Zone 2 but not in Zone 1.

Can the Zebra L10 ATEX (Windows) be used in Zone 0?

No. It is not certified for Zone 0. Zone 0 needs equipment with protection level Ga, such as Ex ia intrinsic safety.

What type of explosion protection does the Zebra L10 ATEX (Windows) use?

It combines increased safety (Ex ec) with intrinsic safety (Ex ic), both suited to Zone 2. Increased safety adds measures against sparks and hot surfaces; intrinsic safety limits the energy in the circuits.

What does T6 mean for the Zebra L10 ATEX (Windows)?

Its surface stays below 85 °C, so it is suitable for gases that only ignite above that temperature. Check the ignition temperature of the substances on your site.

Can you charge the Zebra L10 ATEX (Windows) in a hazardous area?

No. The certificate only allows charging outside the hazardous area.

Which ports and accessories can be used with the Zebra L10 ATEX (Windows) in the hazardous area?

All I/O ports (USB, USB-C, RJ-45, HDMI/RS232, audio, micro SD, internal SIM) and DC-in must not be used in the explosive atmosphere.

What operating system does the Zebra L10 ATEX (Windows) run?

Windows 10 Pro. Security updates ended in October 2025.

Is the Zebra L10 ATEX (Windows) still available?

No. Zebra no longer sells the L10 Windows range; its ATEX versions aren't in Zebra's current range.

How much does the Zebra L10 ATEX (Windows) cost?

Prices for certified hazardous-area tablets depend on volume, configuration and region, so they are on request. Contact us for a price.

Notes on unconfirmed values

  1. From the IECEx certificate for the Android version (suspended in March 2026); the Windows version's certificate isn't published.
  2. Microsoft ended Windows 10 Pro support on 14 October 2025. The maker doesn't state the edition; an LTSC edition would run longer.
  3. Not checked against the certificate for this exact model.
  4. The IECEx certificate for the Windows version isn't in the IECEx database; the related Android certificate was suspended on 6 March 2026.
  5. From the maker's published information; we haven't seen the North American certificate.
  6. Approximate: the maker doesn't publish a launch date. Based on the certificate date or the maker's announcement.
