This page explains who pays for Intrinsically Safe Tablets, how that shows up on the site, and the rules we follow for every tablet we list.
Who funds this site
The main sponsor of this site is Xshielder, a Norwegian manufacturer of explosion-proof cases for iPhone and iPad. The site is also part of the Hazardous Area Guide network.
Xshielder products appear in the tablet listings and on use-case pages, and on some of those pages they are ranked. Each ranking page states the criteria it uses, so you can see why a tablet sits where it does.
Links to xshielder.com are marked as sponsored and carry tracking parameters, so Xshielder can see which pages send visitors its way. Other makers are welcome to contact us about sponsoring the site.
Rules we apply to every tablet
Facts come from certificates, declarations of conformity and manufacturer datasheets, and they are checked against those documents. Summaries, strengths and limitations are written by the same rules for every brand.
A value we could not confirm from a primary source is shown with a numbered marker and a note explaining what is uncertain. When something is unknown, we say it is not verified rather than saying the tablet lacks it.
Prices are shown as on request on every tablet page and ranking, so cost never affects how a tablet is ordered. A ranking changes when the certificates show it should, whoever the maker is.
Spotted a mistake?
If a fact on this site looks wrong, or you work for a maker we list and have a newer certificate, tell us. We check it against the document and correct the page.
Always check the certificate for your exact model before taking a tablet into a hazardous area.
